EDIT: Got to say, he did better then Kat. His last song was good.
17th-May-2006 03:17 pm - House and AI
Anyone happen to have a copy of last nights showing of house or AI? And if not can anyone give me the low down on what happened? We missed both shows last night. Thanks a bunch!

OMG! This movie is so good!! Okay so it's mostly for kids and it is a tiny bit like Mary Poppins but not as sugary sweet. Emma Thompson is spectacular. She wrote the screen play for it and did a wonderful job. The story has an interesting history too so if you do rent it/ buy it be sure and check out the special features. Anyway, LOVED IT, MUST BUY IT!
12th-May-2006 08:37 am - oh, ha. oh, HA HA HA!!

so most of you are aware of my complete love for television without pity, particularly the reviews of AI. the regular reviewer of AI, in discussing chris' performances, has made several references to chris going on to be the lead singer of fuel - and at the time i read them, i thought he was more or less making a statement about the type of music and singing that chris does.

and lo and behold, it turns out that having got the boot, chris is now, literally, going to be the lead singer of fuel.

also, i wanted to make a quick note about ER. i got back into it this season, and over the last few weeks, when they really started making a big deal about the darfur thing, i said "guess george clooney still has some influence with those guys at the show". but last night's show was so incredibly blatent with it's anti-war and anti-government statements that i turned to joe and said "what, are they just letting clooney write the scripts?".
11th-May-2006 11:03 pm - WTF moment on Sundance
Ok. So last night is "Lost" night here at the house. Normally we watch "Lost" then move onto "South Park" then "The Daily Show". But last night "South Park" was a re-run so we were flipping around on the TV and came across a movie on Sundance call "Little Otik". I can't even begin to describe this movie. It is odd... strange... it's well.. you just have to see it.

Then tonight I'm once again flipping channels and get to Sunday again and there is this show called "Monkey Dust"

This was also odd and strange. And disturbing. One scene...

Mother tells father that she is moving to the US and taking their son with her but he can't go.

Father tells son that he loves him and will always be with him no matter where he is.

Father goes to the bathroom and drinks a bottle of bleach and kills himself.

The next shot is of the son knocking on the door to tell daddy that mommy was sorry and would never take him away from his daddy. "Daddy, I love you, please come out and play and do that funny thing you do to make me smile."

Let me tell you, cartoon or not, it was just wrong.
11th-May-2006 09:10 pm - thoughts on Lost
i was thinking about Lost today. this season, FINALLY, is starting to get back up to the level of interest the first season had for me, but it's been a struggle, and not just because of the sketchy schedule. this season, with the absense of most of the metaphysical/supernatural stuff, has really seemed more flat - and today i realized what the other missing element was, the one that's so obvious that i can believe i didn't realize it before.

the score.

last season made use of music, most especially that haunting theme, to GREAT effect, and as i was thinking about how much i liked the last season, the music is one of the big things that really made that show for me. it really drew you into the show and created a mood for it.

Lost, what happened to you?!

Chris? What were they thinking? I can't express in words... oh hell, maybe later
10th-May-2006 10:06 pm - American Idol
I'm just disgusted. I probably won't even watch it anymore. Dammit.

I'll be glad when this TV season is in reruns. I'll be able to get some writing and proofreading done.
